Commit Fully To Your Job

Operate as if you are self-employed and carry personal responsibility for your own career mobility. You determine how fast you climb the corporate ladder. Assume personal responsibility for the success of the Company rather than focusing merely within the boundaries of your own job. Act like an owner. See the entire forest, not only your tree.

 

Continuously Re-Tool Yourself

Lifelong learning is the only way to remain competitive in the job market. Invest in your own growth and development. Read, attend training courses and seek learning opportunities which will impact positively on your career mobility. The more you know and the better you do it, the more valuable you will become. The greater your job security!

 

Add Value

Make sure that you contribute more than you cost. It’s your contribution that counts. Prove your worth to the Company. Think in terms of being paid for results rather than your tenure or activity level.

 

Increase Your Speed

In today’s highly competitive world, “slow” kills companies and jobs. To survive in our industry, we have to be faster and more efficient than our competitors. GDI cannot move fast if our employees move slow. Employees need to operate with a strong sense of urgency and must accelerate in all aspects of work.

 

Self Discipline

Self discipline is a strategy that leads to success.  There are many doors to success.  Without self discipline, none of them will open.  Persevere…Be productive and proactive.  Go the extra mile.

Everyone in the business is in customer service.  Treat your customers the way they want to be treated.  The golden rule suggest that you treat your customers they way you want to be treated if you were the customer; at GDI we take this to the next level and we follow the platinum rule, ‘Treat people the way they want to be treated!’

See change not as an enemy, but as an ally.  The dynamics of our industry requires flexibility in our operations and processes. Employees are expected to be flexible and to expect and accept change.
